Fading To Begin

December 9th, 2024

The lights have dimmed,
The halls are quiet,
The voices of a previous age are silent,
Drifting away in listless fog of missing goodbyes.

Will sweeping currents of a luminous effervescence ever return?
Twilight’s shadow escapes into a darkness pulled from a dawn,
From which there is but a quickly fading imprint,
A legacy carving an ache that filters through each heartbeat,
Lingering in the breath of forgotten worlds.

Yet,

The lark will sing again in the bosom of the cherry tree,
Sunlight will sparkle and dance through the leaves of the chestnut tree,
The heart will, once again, delight in the rivers of a nurturing wind,
That cleanses stagnant reveries in a sweep of bewilderment;
This almighty wind will overpower a resistant stagnation,
To usher in the rising strength of a determined beginning,
Unfettered,
Undeterred,
Without any hesitation.

Sincerely,
SC
