Shimmering mirrors of dappling light reflect tiny pools of gold across plush leaves of Melissa Officinalis “Mandarina,” as they release a comforting sweet orange scent into the air.
These beautiful pools of ever-changing light are richly enhanced by Mandarina’s intense fragrance, the fullness of which is only revealed after carefully rubbing the surface of each leaf between the fingers in the early morning.
To observe the interplay between light and scent is to recognise a transition point, where there is a cleansing of, “what was,” to bring forth the foundation of, “what is.”
